Night Photography and Sensor Cleaning

The biggest drawback to the Canon EOS 5D camera is the sensor – and associated cleaning issues. It is not sealed, so it is a dust magnet. It is also not self-cleaning – so it requires painstaking cleaning.

I noticed some spots when attempting to take some photos (now discarded). The result – over 8 hours of cleaning and quite a few cleaning supplies purchased. By the time I was finished, it was time for a spectacular sunset – and the photos contained herein.

Sometimes endeavors end better than they begin – and this one certainly did, as the night shots are far more interesting than what I originally intended to take before the cleaning exercise. Enjoy the full set at http://flickr.com/photos/rdonovan/sets/72157606044958557/.
