I admit it. I love car shows; I can combine both my automotive and photographic pursuits into a single outing. This July’s Ottawa British Car day was no exception – beautiful weather at Britannia Park and some magnificent cars made for an enjoyable afternoon.
There were many magnificent cars there, but I particularly enjoyed some of the examples of vintage MG, Jaguar, and Bentley automobiles. My absolute favorite was a 1960 Bentley SII, shown here. The SII is the second-generation, V8-powered version of the Bentley variant of the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud. It is considerably rarer to see the Bentley version in North America, particularly with a Left Hand Drive steering wheel.
Seeing this beautiful car brought back many fond memories of my 1959 Silver Cloud II, which was a comparable car – but produced as a Rolls-Royce.
